Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

An incorrect software file in affected vehicles allows the vehicle operator to deactivate the passenger side airbag by selecting this in the menus of the instrument panel of the vehicle.

The hazard

In an event where the passenger dash airbag would normally deploy and the vehicle operator had switched off or disabled the passenger frontal (dash) SRS airbag device, there could be an increased risk of injury to an occupant of the front passenger seat.

The remedy

Affected owners will be contacted when a software fix becomes available to remove this option. Owners will then be able to schedule an appointment with their nearest authorised Alfa Romeo dealer for rectification.
