The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the pipes to the rear brake system may have been incorrectly assembled. As a result, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) may not operate as intended leading to a loss of vehicle control whilst driving.

The hazard

A loss of vehicle control whilst driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles to contact their preferred authorised McLaren Dealer to make an appointment to have the pipes inspected and if necessary rectified, free of charge
