The defect

Due to a defect during assembly, the lock nut securing the steering draglink to the pitman arm may not have been tightened sufficiently and could become loose. If this occurs, the vehicle may experience a sudden loss of steering control.

The hazard

A loss of steering control could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their nearest MAN Dealer to arrange to have their vehicle inspected and the work carried out, free of charge.
