The defect

Due to improper programming of the vehicle’s trailer connection electrical control unit. The hazard lamps, reverse lamps and backup alarm may activate when the lamps are not activated.

If the hazard lamps, reverse lamps and backup alarm activate when not in use. It may impact the safety of other traffic increasing the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles are asked to contact an authorised Daimler Commercial Vehicle Dealership as soon as possible to have the work carried out free of charge.
