The defect
Due to a software issue, the instrument cluster may fail to illuminate the visual seat belt warning as required by the Australian Design Rules (ADR) 04/06.

The hazard
If the driver is not made aware of an unfastened seatbelt, there is an increased risk of injury or death in case the vehicle is involved in an accident.The vehicle is not compliant with Australian Design Rule 04/06.
The remedy
Owners of affected vehicles can contact their preferred local Kia dealership to schedule an appointment and have the instrument cluster software updated, free of charge.
