The defect

Due to a manufacturing defect, the vehicle's rear driveshaft may fracture resulting in a sudden reduction of motive power.

The hazard

A sudden reduction of motive power while driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.Note: Please drive with caution and pay attention to any abnormal noise. Stop driving the vehicle if noise can be heard from the rear of the vehicle and have vehicle delivered to a Genesis dealer for inspection and rectification.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted directly by Genesis Motor Australia (GMA), requesting to make an appointment with their preferred authorised GMA dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.If vehicle owners still have queries, they can contact GMA Customer Care on 1800 908 070.
