The defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, the connector to the Heater Core may overheat due to a faulty electrical connection. This may cause excess heat in the connection. If this occurs it may result in a vehicle fire.

The hazard

A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Hyundai Motor Company Australia and asked to contact an authorised Hyundai dealership to have the component inspected and rectified, free of charge.
