The defect

Due to incorrect wiring, vehicles fitted with the tow bar wiring harness may experience the hazard warning lights to become inoperative when the key is removed from the ignition.

The hazard

If the hazard warning lights on the trailer being towed become inoperative, other road users may not see the stopped/slowing vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident or injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Kia Motors Australia will notify affected owners in writing to contact their nearest dealer and arrange an inspection and relocate the tow bar wiring harness fuse, where necessary.For more information, consumers can contact Kia Motors Australia on 13 15 42.
