The defect

Due to a manufacturing issue, the transfer case blanking plug may not have been installed correctly during production. This may lead to an oil leak from the transmission.

The hazard

An oil leak onto the road increases the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Owners can contact their preferred Mazda Dealer for inspection. If the Transfer Case Blanking Plug is not installed the Transfer Case will be replaced with a new assembly at no charge.
