The defect

The vehicle's front radar sensor which supports certain driver assistance features, including the Pre-Collision System (PCS) may not have been calibrated during vehicle manufacture. This could result in the PCS not operating as intended.

The hazard

The PCS may fail to detect a vehicle in front and warn the driver or apply the brake assist as intended which may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Toyota will contact affected owners in writing, requesting that owners make an appointment at their preferred Toyota dealer to inspect and if required adjust the front radar sensor, free of charge.To find a local dealer, visit https://www.toyota.com.au/find-a-dealer
