The defect

To meet the requirements of European towbar regulation ECE 55-01, it is necessary to apply an ECE label to the towbar when fitted to a vehicle. This label was not affixed to the towbar.

The hazard

The vehicle is not compliant with the Australian Design Rule (ADR 62/02).

The remedy

Toyota will contact affected owners in writing, requesting to make an appointment at their preferred Toyota dealer to apply towbar ECE 55-01 compliance label, free of charge.
