The defect

The current layout of the Bowden cable installed within the driver and passenger doors creates tension on the door lock and may cause the cable retainer to break, preventing the doors from being opened from the outside.

The hazard

The doors may not be able to be opened using the external handles. In an emergency, vehicle occupants may not be able to escape from the vehicle, potentially increasing the risk of injury.

The remedy
