The defect
Incorrect software coding within the rear control unit may result in the seatbelt handover arm not retracting when the vehicle is moving. In the event of an accident this may impair the correct operation of the front seat belts and cause the handover arm to break resulting in sharp edges.

This may result in increased injury to the vehicle occupants should an accident occur.
The remedy
