The defect

The bolts connecting the front lower control arms to the steering knuckles may not have been fastened to specification. Under certain driving conditions it is possible that the lower control arm may separate from the steering knuckle.

The hazard

Separation of the lower control arm from the steering knuckle may lead to a loss of vehicle steering, potentially leading to increased risk to the vehicle occupants or other road users.

The remedy

Holden has already contacted a majority of affected customers and arranged rectification of their vehicles. A follow up letter will be sent to these customers as notification that the recall was required and has been completed.Holden will contact the remaining customers to arrange for vehicle inspection.
