The defect

There is potential for a coolant leak to develop from the heater core. Leaking coolant may enter the ECU and cause a short circuit. In the worst case scenario the SRS airbag could deploy unexpectedly.

The hazard

The SRS airbag may spontaneously deploy, causing an accident and injury to the occupants and/or other road users.

The remedy

Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by mail. Daihatsu Service Outlets will inspect and check the condition of the heater core for leakage and the SRS airbag ECU connector terminal for contamination.
