The defect

The stone chipping resistant agent sprayed to the underside of the vehicle may have been applied where rear torsion axle retaining bolts are located.

The hazard

In the worst case, driving the vehicle on rough roads may result in the bolt(s) coming loose and possibly detaching, resulting in decreased vehicle stability.

The remedy

Mitsubishi is notifying all affected customers by letter. Owners are advised to contact their authorised Mitsubishi dealership for inspection and/or retensioning of the rear torsion axle retaining bolts.
