The defect

There is a possibility that the Automatic Transmission Shift Cable Bracket fitted to the affected vehicles may have unnecessary welding and may not meet specification. This weld could lead to cracking/breakage of the bracket.

The hazard

Should the defect occur, high shift efforts or no shift for selected gears may result.

The remedy

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and requested to present their vehicle to a Mazda Dealer for repair. Consumers may obtain further information by contacting any Mazda dealer or free-call 1800 034 411 (10:00am to 4:00pm, Eastern Standard Time, Monday - Friday) to speak to Mazda Customer Service Representatives.
