The defect

Vehicle owners may experience reduced performance of the park brake over time and may also see visible signs of a minor oil leak such as oil spots under the vehicle. The loss of park brake is due to the brake shoes being impregnated with oil from the transfer box as a result of a loose flange nut on the output of the transfer box allowing oil to migrate onto the brake shoes.
