The defect

The Roof Bar is designed to anchor to the vehicle by way of securing metal straps or brackets 'Straps'. In product failure cases significant upward wind forces on the under-surface area of the carried loads have stretched or bent the Straps to the point where they detach from the roof of the vehicle. When this occurs there is potential for the Roof Bars and their load to separate from the vehicle during travel.
