The defect

Due to excessive clearance at the bonnet shroud bump stop rubbers and/or missing reinforcement brackets on the bonnet striker foot, bonnet striker failure may occur. In a worst-case scenario, detachment of the striker from the bonnet may cause the bonnet to open while driving.
