The defect
There is a possibility that the front suspension lower ball joint may have been scratched. If the vehicle is operated for an extensive period in this condition, excessive wear of the ball joint may occur with consequent looseness of the front suspension. The driver may experience increased steering effort and reduced steering self centring feeling and the lower ball joint may separate from the knuckle causing a loss of vehicle steering control.
