The defect

The boot's power liftgate may partially lower unexpectedly from the fully opened position when the vehicle is parked facing uphill on a slope in high ambient temperature.

The hazard

If the boot's power liftgate partially lowers while a person is accessing the rear storage area of the vehicle, the liftgate may contact them, increasing the risk of injury.

The remedy

Mazda Australia will contact all affected customers to advise them to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda Dealer for inspection and repair as required at no charge.For further information, consumers should contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411.
