Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

Yamaha has determined that the resistance in the wire harness between the APS,TPS and ECU may increase due to a manufacturing defect in the wire harness at the time of production. Under this condition, the output voltage APS /TPS may read out of specifications and send an incorrect signal to the ECU.

The hazard

If the defect occurs, it is possible that the engine speed may not return to idle even if the throttle grip is returned to closed position while riding. This poses a hazard to the rider and other road users.

The remedy

Yamaha has written to all affected owners. Consumers should contact their local Yamaha dealer to set up an appointment and have the motorcycle remedied free of charge. For further information, please call 02 9827 7500. For assistance finding a Yamaha dealer, visit www.yamaha-motor.com.au/dealers/all
