The defect

A machining defect of the primary drive and driven meshing gears results in excessive noise during acceleration and engine rpm increase when shifting through gear ratios. This is due to a mismatch of the meshing gear components.

The noise generated may exceed the regulated Australian Design Rule (ADR) external noise level standards for this model.
