The defect

The primary fixed sheave nut may loosen during riding due to inadequate tightening torque of the nut. If the nut loosens off, the primary sheave may contact the crank case cover, causing noise from the engine assembly and possible engine stalling.

The hazard

Engine stalling during riding may cause loss of control of the scooter, posing an accident risk to the rider.

The remedy
