The defect
1. Engine vibration transmitted to the fuel tank may cause the spot weld of the bracket to break.2. Corrosion of the switch electrical terminals may develop due to water contamination, causing a loss of electrical power.
The hazard
1. If the fuel tank bracket breaks it could result in fuel leakage.2. Engine stalling may result during riding due to the electrical power loss.
The remedy
Consumers will be contacted by direct mail.
