The defect

In some vehicles clearance between the hood and the front brake hose may be inadequate, resulting in chafing of the front brake hose and a possible air leak. A damaged brake hose may reduce brake effectiveness.

The hazard

If the brake hose is leaking air, the brake may not function properly, posing an accident or injury risk to the vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Affected consumers/lessees can contact their authorised Western Star Truck dealer/lessor and quote campaign number FL773 to book their vehicle for inspection and repair.
