The defect

The left rear positioning light may stop functioning as a result of a software failure. The error will illumiate the 'bulb failure light' and display a message in the Drivers Information Module (DIM).

The hazard

If the bulb was to fail this may pose a traffic hazard to the driver and/or other road users due to reduced visibility.

The remedy

Consumers should contact their nearest Volvo dealer and arrange a time to take their vehicle in to have the repair carried out.
