Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The engine management software on these Thruxton model motorcycles may not always prevent 'blip stalling'; the ability to maintain a stable engine idle when the throttle is opened and closed ('blipped') very quickly with the clutch disengaged.

The hazard

Engine stalling presents an increased risk of a loss of control of the vehicle. This could increase the risk of an accident and injury to the rider or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.

The remedy

Owners of affected motorcycles will be contacted by Triumph. Owners should then contact their nearest Triumph dealer to arrange for a new version ECM calibration software to be downloaded into the affected Thruxton model vehicles. This new version calibration software Service Fix will be free of cost to vehicle owners. For help finding a Triumph dealer consumers can go to http://www.triumphmotorcycles.com.au/dealers/find-a-dealer
