The defect

The engine valve spring may fracture if the performance load exceeds the valve spring’s fatigue strength.

The hazard

If the engine valve spring fractures this will result in a sudden power loss while driving. Also, the engine may not restart.

The remedy

Owners will be notified of the recall by mail and requested to make an appointment at their preferred Toyota Dealer for an inspection and repair, free of charge.For more information, consumers can contact their preferred Toyota Dealer or contact the Toyota Recall Assist Helpline on 1800 987 366 (Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm AEDT).
