The defect

Involved vehicles have had the passenger’s front air bag inflator replaced as part of the Takata inflator recall campaign.There is a possibility that in some vehicles the replacement inflator was installed incorrectly.

The hazard

In the event of an accident, the passenger front air bag may not properly inflate as designed during deployment, increasing the risk of injury.

The remedy

A recall notification will be sent to the owner at their last known address advising of this recall and requesting the vehicle be presented to their preferred Toyota Dealer. Vehicles will be inspected by the Dealer and if required, the vehicle will be rectified. Both the inspection and the repair will be free of charge.For further information, owners should contact their nearest Toyota Dealer or the Toyota Recall Support Line on 1800 987 366 between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday (AEST).
