The defect

The belt tensioner that drives the engine accessories has been manufactured incorrectly. This may cause the belt to come off and warning lamps to illuminate.

The hazard

If the vehicle continues to be driven, the engine temperature gauge reading will become high and in some cases the engine will be damaged and may stop and not restart, posing a potential accident hazard to the driver and other road users.

The remedy

Consumers should contact their nearest Suzuki dealer to have the vehicle inspected and countermeasure parts fitted.
