The defect

On certain Sprinter vehicles the electronically unlocking door locks may have been installed with an incorrect operating lever.

The hazard

If the front driver's hinged door, the load compartment sliding door and the right rear-end door could not be opened from both the inside and the outside. In an emergency, the escape route via the right side of the vehicle may not open and could lead to serious injury.
