The defect

The rear seat belt pretensioner connector lock, may not have been installed correctly during vehicle assembly and will not tension properly.

The hazard

If the pretensioner wiring harness connector incorrectly locks, this can prevent it from fully tensioning the seatbelt in the event of an accident. This could increase the risk of injury or in the case of a serious accident, increase the risk of death to vehicle occupants.

The remedy

Consumers will be advised to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda Dealer for inspection and repair, at no charge.For further information, consumers should contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411.
