The defect

On the affected vehicles, the welding between the fuel tank and rollover valve (ROV) may peel off, causing a fuel leak.

The hazard

Fuel leakage would pose a fire risk, potentially creating a hazard for the vehicle occupants and other road users.

The remedy

Mazda Australia will contact all affected customers by mail. Customers will be advised to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda Dealer for the replacement of the fuel tank (which includes the rollover valve) at no charge. Consumers who require further information should contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411.
