The defect

Due to a supplier assembly error, the seat belt buckle for the second-row middle seat may have been installed on the wrong side of the seat, thereby preventing proper use of the 3-point seat belt.

The hazard

An incorrectly used seat belt can increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

The remedy

Affected owners will be contacted by direct mail. Owners should contact their nearest Kia dealer to arrange for an inspection and repair of the vehicle.
