The defect

The ignition switch wire may rub on the underside of the fuel tank and cause a possible electrical short, damaging the ignition switch.

The hazard

If the ignition switch is damaged, the worse case scenario could lead to the engine stalling, posing a potential accident hazard to the rider and other road users.

The remedy
