The defect

Certain vehicles may experience an unintended change in ignition switch position while driving.

The hazard

This may result in loss of engine power, power steering, and braking assist increasing the risk of crash and disabling one or more of the vehicle's safety featuring including the frontal airbags.

The remedy

Chrysler Jeep will inform all customers by letter that a recall has been launched and a set of simple checks that can be carried out. An additional letter will be sent when repair instructions, part required is available.
