The defect

An insufficient anti corrosion coating was applied to the end cap on the outer tube of the tailgate gas springs, which may cause corrosion.

The hazard

Corrosion may result in the end cap breaking and hitting the operator and/or the tailgate falling down suddenly, resulting in an injury or a potential accident.

The remedy

Owners will be contacted by direct mail. Owners will be advised to arrange an appointment with their preferred Citroen authorised dealer to have the vehicle inspected and the replacement parts installed.
