Verify before you act. Recall details and remedies can change. Our database is updated regularly but may not reflect the most recent revisions. Always confirm with vehiclerecalls.gov.au or your vehicle manufacturer before acting on the information below. Read our full disclaimer.

The defect

The alternator of the affected models may experience diode thermal fatigue due to cyclical loads induced by the electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS).

The hazard

If the diodes fail, the alternator will no longer supply electrical energy to the vehicle. This may lead to the vehicle stalling without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.Failed diodes may also develop a resistive short circuit that can result in heat, smoke and/or fire originating within the alternator.

The remedy

FCA Australia will notify owners of affected vehicles who can then schedule a service booking with their nearest Chrysler Jeep Dodge service centre who will carry out the repairs.
