The defect

The wheel flare protection spats on vehicles may not have been installed during the vehicle assembly process. Vehicles built without wheel flare protection spats do not comply with Australian Design Rule 42/04 - General Safety Requirement.

The hazard

Vehicles without wheel flare protection spats increase the risk of debris coming into contact with bystanders at speed, posing a potential injury hazard.

The remedy

FCA Australia will notify vehicle owners who can take their vehicle to a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership whereby the dealer will install the wheel flare spats.
