The defect

The wheel nuts may crack, resulting in a reduced clamping force.

The hazard

If the wheel clamping force reduces, the rider may lose control over the vehicle's behaviour, increasing the risk of an accident causing injury or death to the rider and/or other road users.

The remedy

Consumers should contact their local BRP Can-Am dealer and arrange an appointment for vehicle repairs. How to determine if you can continue to ride your vehicle:If the red locking clip is NOT correctly installed do not drive your vehicle as you may lose a wheel while driving.A correctly installed red locking clip is sitting well into the groove all around the nut. If you see an installation like the picture above - red locking clip NOT installed properly, contact your dealer to organise transportation of your vehicle to the dealership. The presence of a correctly installed red locking clip prevents a nut from unscrewing and the vehicle can be driven to the dealership. To find a dealer, visit https://au.brp.com/on-road/dealer-locator.htmlFor further information, contact BRP by phone on 1300 050 931.
