The defect

On certain vehicles, it is possible that fuel may escape from one or both fuel rails (low-pressure side).

The hazard

In the event of a fuel leak, small amounts of fuel may escape, resulting in fumes inside the vehicle or in the presence of an ignition source cause a fire, increasing the risk of injury to drivers and passengers.

The remedy

Audi Australia will contact owners of affected vehicles and request that an appointment be made for the vehicle to be inspected and the fuel rails for the low-pressure side of both cylinder banks to be replaced.For further information, consumers should contact the Audi Australia 24-hour toll free number 1800 50 AUDI (2834).
